Upstart Films

On Sept. 12, Upstart Films hosted our third annual 24-Hour Film Rush and it was a success. Five teams competed, 22 people showed up to registration, and about 55 people showed up to the screening Saturday night.

Thanks to all the people who came out and supported the filmmakers at the screening and to all the filmmakers who gave up 24 hours of their lives to make a short film.

Upstart collaborated with SIFE to create this anti-piracy PSA to enter into a contest. The video won first place and $3000.

Upstart Films is hosting our annual Film Rush, where students have 24 hours to make an awesome short film!

It’s a race to the death to see who makes the best movie under the given parameters. So please come out for some fun and meet fellow student filmmakers like yourself!

Everyone is welcome! Experience and equipment is not required, but if you got it bring it!

A new semester begins for Upstart! Everyone interested in filmmaking is invited.

Thursday September 4, at 7pm in Turlington. Room # is TBA. Food will be served and new members are encouraged to attend!

Upstart Films is a student organization at the University of Florida dedicated to helping students make films.

We host workshops, filmmaking competitions, screenings and more.

If you are at all interested in learning more about filmmaking, feel free to come to one of our meetings. We haven’t figured out our fall meeting time yet, but it’s likely to be every Thursday.
